With so many good causes vying for donations, it can be hard for your charity to stand out.
You need a unique way to raise funds that draws positive attention—one that maybe even goes viral.
With Dine with a Star, you can make it happen.
Raise Your Charity’s Profile with Star Power
Celebrities want to connect with fans and support charities. And many fans will donate in order to meet their favourite stars.
Dine with a Star connects these star and fans in order to raise money for great causes—like yours!
By partnering, you’ll be able to raise funds by tapping star power. Hold a contest and raffle off tickets. The winner gets to dine with a celebrity and your charity benefits from the positive publicity.
Accessible to the Average Fan
Dine with a Star wants to make stars accessible to the average fan.
As such, we encourage stars to accept various amounts for charity. Large contributions are certainly not discouraged, but we believe that many smaller donations can quickly add up, while at the same time connecting many more fans with stars.
That’s why we love to work with charities. Raffling lots of tickets brings down the required donation for any given fan while still raising a considerable amount in total funds.

What portion of the money raised goes to my charity?
For any dinner, at least 50% of the donation goes directly to charity. The star will determine if a higher portion is donated; many stars do donate more.
As well, Dine with a Star keeps a portion (20%) of the total money raised.
So depending upon how much the star decides to keep for him/herself, up to 80% of the money a fan provides can go to your charity. You’ll always receive a minimum of at least 50% of the money provided.
If you’ve run a raffle, any money your charity raises above the star’s requested donation is yours to keep. Neither the star nor Dine With a Star keeps a portion of these “extra” funds.
Of course, all of these details are kept confidential between you, the fan and the star.
What costs is a partner charity responsible for covering?
Each charity is responsible for the winner’s travel expenses and the tab for the meal. As well, the charity must cover the costs of the required security background check of the fan and the cost of security personnel, unless the star has his/her own.
What if my charity’s fundraiser raises more than the star’s requested donation?
If you’ve sold raffle tickets, your charity could earn more than what the star has requested as a donation. If this happens, you get to keep any money raised that’s above the donation amount. Neither the star nor Dine With a Star gets a portion of this “extra” money.
